One of our friends is facing a difficult workplace situation which is proving intractable to resolve, and has asked us to pray that patience and equanimity may replace stress and friction. Petulant, peevish people wearing down my resistance
Awkward administrators aiming to offer no assistance
Truculent truck-drivers tailgating me on the road
Incompetent, interfering idiots pushing me to overload
Everyone, everywhere seems to be on my case.
Now I need to encounter that welcome Spirit of Grace:
Calm me, Lord, as you calmed the stormy sea,
Enfold me in your place of tranquillity.
